The Morris County School Nurses Association is celebrating “Fifty Years of Caring” with a professional development dinner on October 6, 2011.  The dinner program will feature Christene DeWitt Parker, School Health Coordinator at NJDOE, speaking on “School Nursing in NJ: Square Pegs in Round Holes.”  Each participant will receive an “anniversary gift” in celebration of this momentous milestone for the Association.  We wait for pictures!

The Monmouth County School Nurses Association held its spring dinner on May 3, 2011 at the Spring Lake Manor and honored eight retirees.  Christene DeWitt Parker was the guest speaker.  MCSNA board members Kathie Bessinger, Lorraine Chewey, and Laura Jannone attended NASN’s 43rd annual conference in Washington, DC and visited Capital Hill to speak with legislators about issues that affect students.  MCSNA board members Laura Jannone and Karen Farrell attended the 16th Biannual School Nurse International Conference in Hong Kong.  Prior to attending the conference,  Karen  toured Thailand and Cambodia where she worked with school-aged children.  Laura taught two pre-conference seminars to school nurses from Hong Kong.  Sounds like these school nurses has a very busy summer!
