I am a nationally certified school nurse working in the Dumont Public Schools for the past 20 years and currently serve as the district nurse coordinator. My 38+ year career encompasses a variety of hospital-based positions in medical surgical and pediatric settings. I have experience as a nursing supervisor, manager and nursing educator. I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Boston College in 1985, a Master of Science in School Nursing from Monmouth University in 2008 and a post-graduate certificate in Forensic Nursing from Monmouth University in 2014. I am a Johnson & Johnson School Health Leadership Fellow. I have served on the executive board of the New Jersey State School Nurses Association in various capacities since 2011 and am the immediate Past President for both the NJSSNA and the Bergen County School Nurses Association.
I believe that the health of our youth reflects the health of our society and that every child deserves a school nurse. I feel it is important that as a school nurse that I promote school and community wellness and deliver high-quality, evidenced-based care in the school setting.
