ADVANTAGES OF MEMBERSHIP

Newsletter—Published four times a year, it provides updated information on issues concerning the school nurse.

Programs—Timely topics are addressed at the American Academy of Pediatrics NJ/NJSSNA sponsored fall conference and at the annual NJ State School Nurse Conference in March. At the NJEA convention, a full program is provided (must also be an NJEA member to attend at no cost) and the President's Luncheon reservations are available to all attendees. The May annual dinner meeting is enhanced by an informative speaker.

Standards and Practices—Assistance is provided for members who are experiencing problems with district non-compliance in implementation of statutes and hiring practices.

Marketing—This committee functions as a link between certified school nurses seeking a position and county superintendents whose districts have openings in school health services.

Membership—Is on an annual basis, June 1st through May 31st. Membership applications are accepted through December 31st annually.
